Ankhway’s testing protocol

How we test and verify Ankhway Mushroom Gummies

  1. Raw material Certificates of Analysis (CoAs)

Every raw material we use, from the mushroom extracts to the other ingredients, comes with a certificate of analysis from its supplier and is checked against our specification before it is accepted for production.

  2. Mushroom extract testing

The raw mushroom extract powder used to make Ankhway gummies is independently tested for beta glucan and polysaccharides, naturally occurring compounds found in mushrooms.

  3. Finished gummies, every batch

Every batch is screened for 152 potential contaminants across six groups: pesticides, residual solvents, mycotoxins, microbes, heavy metals and gluten.

Ankhway mushroom gummy testing FAQs

Which mushrooms are in Ankhway Mushroom Gummies?

Ankhway Mushroom Gummies contain ten mushroom extracts, each included in equal measure: Lion’s Mane, Cordyceps, Reishi, Shiitake, Chaga, Maitake, Tremella, Royal Sun, White Button and Black Fungus.

Two gummies a day provide the equivalent of 250mg of each mushroom, 2,500mg in total, from concentrated 10:1 extracts.

What are beta glucan and polysaccharides?

Beta glucans and polysaccharides are naturally occurring compounds found in mushrooms. For Ankhway Mushroom Gummies, these measurements are taken from the raw mushroom extract powder used to manufacture the gummies, before production.

How often are Ankhway Mushroom Gummies tested?

Every production batch of Ankhway Mushroom Gummies is independently tested. This page shows the most recent results and is updated when a new batch report is available.

Who tests Ankhway Mushroom Gummies?

An independent food testing laboratory accredited to ISO/IEC 17025 carries out Ankhway’s main product testing. Light Labs independently reviews, verifies and publishes the laboratory results.

What is ISO/IEC 17025?

ISO/IEC 17025 is the international standard for testing laboratories. An accredited laboratory has been independently checked and approved to carry out the tests it performs, and is checked again regularly. Accreditation is recognised in the UK and around the world.

What does a result of 0 mean?

It means the substance was not detected: it was not found at or above the lowest level the laboratory’s test can reliably measure.

What if a substance is detected?

Some substances, such as minerals from the soil, can occur naturally in plant-based ingredients. Where a level is found, the report shows the measured amount alongside the permitted limit, so you can compare the two.

Who is Light Labs?

Light Labs is an independent, ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratory and transparency platform based in the US. For Ankhway, Light Labs reviews and verifies the results from our testing laboratory and publishes them in a clear, customer-facing report.

Can I see Ankhway's full lab report?

Yes. Open the Light Labs report above to see the substances measured and screened, together with the available test methods, results and applicable limits.

Why do Ankhway mushroom gummies contain sugar?

Ankhway Mushroom Gummies use a small amount of sugar instead of sugar alcohols or artificial sweeteners. Two gummies contain approximately 5g of sugar, about the same as six grapes. We chose sugar because it is a simple, familiar ingredient and it balances the natural bitterness of mushroom extracts.

Sugar-free and low-sugar gummies often rely on sugar alcohols such as maltitol, xylitol, sorbitol, erythritol or isomalt, or on sweeteners like sucralose, stevia or acesulfame K. Sugar alcohols are poorly absorbed and can cause bloating, wind and a laxative effect, which is why products containing more than 10% of added polyols carry a warning. Xylitol is also seriously toxic to dogs, which matters in a household product.

Are Ankhway mushroom gummies tested for gluten?

Each production batch of our gummies is tested for gluten in line with US FDA gluten-free testing standards, with results showing gluten levels of under 5 ppm, which is below both US and UK/EU regulatory thresholds of 20 ppm.

The gummies are manufactured in a BRCGS certified, NSF GMP registered facility. They are packed in a facility which complies with all relevant food safety regulations and operates to BRCGS standards, where no gluten-containing ingredients are handled, stored or processed and allergen control procedures are in place.
